ABOUT THE FOUNDER

DR. ASHLEY DENMARK, BOARD CERTIFIED FAMILY MEDICINE PHYSICIAN

Dr. Denmark grew up within blocks of Ferguson, Missouri, and was inspired to become a physician since she was a child. Her journey into healthcare didn't start in a white coat, but rather in the food and nutrition staff at local BJC Hospital in St. Louis Mo.,

Her story clearly didn't end there, but it came full circle in 2018 as she returned to BJC Medical Group Missouri as the FIRST BLACK FEMALE Family Medicine Physician for Missouri Baptist Medical Center since its opening more than 130 years ago.

Never backing down from a challenge, Dr. Denmark found herself 36 weeks pregnant with her first daughter Olivia when she started her first week of medical school at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Aug 2011. She would have her second child Ethan in her 4th year of medical school and her 3rd child Vivian in the 2nd year of her residency program. She is married to her college sweetheart, Anthony, who is a lawyer.
